Say "Amazing" Less and Say These 10+ Words More

As a photographer, you interact with and document countless amazing things. A surprise proposal on a mountaintop as the sun sets behind them. A newborn baby. A bride on her wedding day.

They are all transcendently amazing…which can make writing about them in blog posts singularly challenging. How can you possibly share just how amazing each particular proposal, newborn and bride are without overusing the same, tired word?

Never fear, a copywriter is here!

Instead of saying “amazing” over and over and overandoverandover again, give one of these 10+ words a try.

1. ASTOUNDING

Instead of reusing “amazing,” reach for this a-word instead! Perfect for describing the overall effect of a decorated venue, breathtaking landscape or a massive floral arrangement, it conveys a feeling of positive shock that arrives all at once in a wave.

2. ASTONISHING

When you notice you’ve started overusing “astounding,” switch over to this word for a bit to mean the same thing.

3. INCREDIBLE

This word expresses the idea that something is so amazing that it borders on the unbelievable. Because of this, it’s probably not a great word to use when describing the beauty transformation of the bride. Instead, use it to describe the transformation of a venue or an intricate hairstyle.

4. UNBELIEVABLE

This word can be used alternately with “incredible” for the same effect.

5. BREATHTAKING

If you need a word to describe a resplendent bride in all of her wedding day glory, this one takes the cake! Just listen to the gasps from her bridesmaids, mom and guests when she walks in the room. It’s also a perfect word to use for natural wonder: mountains, sunsets, etc.

6. STRIKING

This word is used to describe a thing that draws attention to it in contrast to everything else around it. Think the face of a joyful groom in a bustling reception hall or an intricate centerpiece.

7. UNREAL

If you have decided to take a down-to-earth, BFF-y tone for your blog posts, this word is a great alternative to the more formal options.

8. MIND-BLOWING

Like “unreal,” this word is best used if your web-voice is relatable and conversational.

9. STUNNING

Meaning “extremely impressive or attractive,” this is a great word to use when describing a pregnant women during a maternity session, a glowing bride the moment she begins her journey down the aisle or a particularly intricate cake, floral arrangement or wedding gown.

10. GLORIOUS

This word should be used to describe something so incredible that it radiates. Something so wonderful that it makes you really feel. Whether it inspires laughter or tears, something truly glorious evokes strong, warm, beautiful emotion.

And when you burn through those, try these bonus words on for size:

AWE-INSPIRING

MIRACULOUS

EXTRAORDINARY

EXCEPTIONAL

MAGNIFICENT

REMARKABLE

OVERWHELMING

DISTINGUISHED

STAGGERING

RESPLENDENT
